This fund raising event’s proceeds will be used to provide scholarships that are awarded annually. If you would like to make a contribution to the Business and Professional Women of Southern Ocean County’s Scholarship fund, checks should be made out to the organization and mailed to BPWSOC, Post Office Box 1207, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants that are in financial need to further their education or business endeavors. Requirements for applicants are that they are at least 25 years of age, residents of Ocean County, who are returning to school, starting their own business or purchasing equipment for their business. Scholarship applications are available on the BPWSOC website www.BPWSOC.org.
BPWSOC empowers women to network, exchange ideas, educate and most importantly to provide professional resources for all women in Ocean County. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month with networking starting at 6 PM at Kristy's Casual Dining, 562 Route 9, Waretown, NJ. On Friday, September 24th, the Business and Professional Women of Southern Ocean County held their 13th Annual Women Helping Women Award Dinner honoring Mary Baldelli of Pathways Massage & Body Works located in Bayville; Dawn Delaney, Donna Palmarozza and Dina Basile of Scissor Sisters located in Manahawkin; Michele Gannon of Mary’s Place By the Sea located in Ocean Grove. These women have worked diligently in giving back to their communities through their occupations, pro bono donations and helping individuals who have been affected with grave health challenges as well as economic disadvantages.
